And so her story begins .....
Yet, survive it she did. I think it came down to her incredible tenacity for life, her incredible ability to take something tragic and choose to see the hidden magic. She had learned the hard way that every so called dark cloud had a silver lining. Mind you whilst she was in the midst of the raging dark clouds, silver linings were far and few in between. I believe that she was indeed blessed to be able to escape into her world of imagination, innocence and thought. In that world the gnarled twisted fingers of hatred, hurt and abuse couldn't touch her, they couldn't taint her world with the stench and distaste that came with such pain and darkness.
She saw herself as a child of light, a child of love. A child above all that darkness. She saw her beauty and worth not through the eyes of others. No she saw and felt her worth through the love and joy she experienced through nature, those who truly loved her, animal friends and the Universe. She saw her beauty and worth in her own reflection. She could trust her own eyes, they never lied to her. They never let her down. They never made empty promises. She didn't need to hear the shallow words 'I love you' for she knew they echoed with emptiness. rather she knew she was loved every time she fell asleep, knowing that she was safely cradled in the protective loving arms of the Universe. She just thought 'how can i be so different from my family'. She felt as though she must have been adopted, she felt as though she didn't belong. If life was a garden, she felt like a sunflower in a garden of roses.
